Professional growth

The power of one percent consistency

Small progress, repeated consistently, becomes transformation.

Valence Mwigani at work

Progress does not always come through dramatic changes. It is more often built through small, consistent improvements repeated every day.

I aim to grow one percent at a time — learning, adjusting, improving and moving forward regardless of the environment or the challenge in front of me. The compounding is invisible day to day and obvious over a year.

In engineering this shows up plainly. A schema improved slightly each time you touch it, a deployment made a little more repeatable, a piece of documentation written while the context is still fresh. None of it feels significant on the day. Collectively it is the difference between a platform that can be maintained and one that has to be rebuilt.

The same applies to a career. Three years of consistent, deliberate work across real production systems teaches things that no single ambitious project does — because the lessons arrive from maintaining what you built after the excitement has gone.

Small progress, repeated consistently, becomes transformation.

Have a system to build, extend, or take over?

I take on full-stack product work, backend and API development, and long-term ownership of platforms already running in production.
